Tom Hales

After graduating from high school in 1969 I attended Beaufort Community College on a basketball scholarship. I graduated in 1971 with an AAS Degree. In 1972 I attended and graduated from The NC Highway Patrol School at UNC-CH in 1973. I was assigned to Brunswick, New Hanover and Pender Counties. I enjoyed this very dangerous and rewarding job. I wanted to finish my last two years of undergraduate work. I wanted to attend ECU and I left the SHP and worked and attended ECU until 1984 when I graduated with a BS Degree. I then went to work as an assistant store manager with a grocery store chain and remained there until I got my NC Real Estate License in 1989. I have sold real estate full-time for the next 31 years. I have enjoyed it. At age 66 I again returned to Pitt Community College and took The Residential Building Program full-time and worked full-time selling real estate.. This was challenging. My class of 15 students under the leadership of a Licensed General Contractor built from the ground up the largest single-family dwelling ever built by any college building program in NC. It was an all hands on construction endeavor. I learned so much which has been so beneficial to my clients that I represent in buying a new house or any house that may need improvements. I enjoy helping buyers make the right informed decisions about which property will serve them best.
